SCAN-MAR (HQ)

Scan-Mar, located in the city of Aalesund at the west coast of Norway, was founded in 1989 and is a producer and exporter of dried and salted codfish.

Dried and salted codfish has been produced in our region for generations, resulting in a well-established manufacturing tradition.

By using fish caught in the clean, cold waters of the Arctic Ocean, which guarantees raw material of excellent quality, we aim to deliver a product of the highest standard based on traditional production methods.

We sell our products worldwide, and our main markets includes Brazil/the Americas, the Dominican Republic/the Carribean, France, Italy, Switzerland and Portugal.

All sales of finished product are in its entirety based on production at our facility Scanprod, in accordance to the different requirements of the markets that we operate in.

Day to day operations are managed from HQ, and main tasks worth mentioning are; acquiring raw material for production, sales of finished products, and handling of logistics (both inbound and outbound).

SCANPROD (PRODUCTION)

Scanprod (approval number M294) is a fully-owned subsidiary of Scan-Mar, located at the island of Valderøy just outside of Aalesund. Finalized in 2006, it is a modern production facility of 6,000 square metres with an annual capacity exceeding 5,000 metric tonnes of dried and salted codfish.

The strategic location near Aalesund and its shipping ports enables us to ship our products to the major container hubs in Europe with relative ease, and from there to the rest of the world.

The production is strictly monitored and in accordance with both national legislation (Norwegian Food Authority / Mattilsynet), as well as the requirements of the different markets our products are sold to.
